This is the vehicle that has mobilised Italy for the last 60 years, it’s built by scooter giant, Piaggio and uses a 50cc, four speed two stroke scooter engine (which is taken from the ancient Vespa 50). The Ape is something you can’t miss when you visit Italy; you’ll see farmers in them, kids, gran’s, aunties and uncles. You’ll also inevitably end up stuck behind one as they struggle up the hills laden down with fruit and veg.
